FAQ
Quick answers to common questions about Sup!, follow-ups, leave, forms and settings.
Getting started
Slack and Microsoft Teams. A few features are Slack only, such as conversational follow-ups and setting a Slack status while someone is on leave. Each page says so where it applies.
Go to app.supbot.com and select Login with Slack or Login with Teams, whichever your team uses. See Get started.
Open Settings and select the workspace card at the bottom of the tab list. Pick another workspace you've signed in to, or add one. See Settings.
No. Members answer follow-ups, fill in forms and get leave updates in Slack or Microsoft Teams. The dashboard is where you set things up, and where anyone can answer or request leave if they prefer.
Admins and access
By default, everyone in the workspace. To limit this to a few people, turn on Access control in Settings > Admin and choose what each admin can do. See Admins and access control.
Your workspace uses access control and you aren't an admin for that part of Sup!. Select Request admin access to ask your admins. See People without access.
In Settings > Admin, select Add user, pick them, untick what they shouldn't do, and select Save settings. You need the Manage admins permission. See Turn on access control.
Members and syncing
Go to Settings > Workspace and select Sync workspace data. Sup! updates the workspace's details and members. You can sync once every six hours. See Sync workspace data.
On Slack, Sup! syncs names and profile images from Slack every weekend, so change them in Slack. To update them sooner, an admin can select Sync workspace data in Settings > Workspace.
Follow-ups
Follow-ups run in the workspace timezone unless the follow-up sets its own. Check Workspace timezone in Settings > Workspace, and the follow-up's timezone settings. On Slack, a follow-up can also run in each member's own timezone, which they set in Settings > Profile.
Sup! has to be in the channel. On Slack, add @sup to the channel and select Send test
notification again. Private channels need a few extra steps, shown in the dashboard. See
Channel.
Someone may have paused it, or Sup! paused it automatically because nobody was using it: it's more than 15 days old, hasn't been edited in 14 days, and has had no responses in 45 days. Turn it back on to use it again. See Pause or resume.
If your workspace uses the Leave Tracker, people on approved full-day leave or a public holiday aren't asked, and their response is recorded as on leave. See Leave and public holidays.
Yes. They can also submit their response from the dashboard. See Alternatively, submit from the dashboard.
Each follow-up has its own Who can view? setting. It's Everyone by default; on a paid plan you can limit it to the follow-up's members, chosen managers or workspace admins. See Who can create, view and edit.
Yes. Moods aren't shown per person anywhere, only as a team average. See Mood tracking.
Leave Tracker
On Slack, from the Sup! app's Home tab with Create holiday / leave. On Microsoft Teams, from the dashboard under Holidays / Leaves. See Request leave.
The managers of the person's team. They get a direct message and can approve or reject it right there. See Approvals and Members and managers.
Leave only counts the workspace's working days. Team and public holidays inside it aren't charged, and half days count as half. See How days are counted.
Public holidays come from each person's location. Add your locations and place people in them, or let people pick their own in Settings > Profile. See Locations.
Yes. Select Subscribe on the Calendar tab to get a link for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. See Subscribe in your calendar app.
Forms
Yes. Turn on Anonymous responses when you create the form. It hides who answered everywhere, and can't be changed later. See Create a form.
A follow-up runs on a schedule and asks its members every time. A form has no schedule: people fill it in whenever they need to, such as a request or a one-time survey. See Forms.
Plans and billing
Each page says when a feature needs a paid plan. To see or change your plans, open Billing in the dashboard's left sidebar. With access control on, only admins with Manage billing can change them.
On Slack, yes. Share your link from Settings > Referral Program: you get 2 months off when they subscribe, and they get 30% off for 3 months. See Referral Program.
