Blackout periods

Mark dates the team keeps free of leave, such as a release week or a year-end freeze.

A blackout period is a run of dates a team wants to keep free of leave. Add them in Settings > Blackout periods.

Settings > Blackout periods: Release week (warn) and Year-end freeze (block)

Each period has a name, Dates and When it applies:

Block: members can't request leave on these days.
Warn: requests go through, with a warning to the member and the approver.

Approvers can still record leave on blackout days. Blackout periods also show in the Leaves list, and in the approver's view of a request that falls in one.
