Edit, deactivate, duplicate or delete
Change a form, stop it taking responses, copy it, or remove it, and who can do each.
Edit a form
Open the form and select Edit to go through its steps again, then Update form. To change one part, select it in the Details panel instead.
- Anonymous responses can't be changed after the form is created.
- Only the form's creator can change Who can view the responses?
- Removing a question keeps its past answers in responses and reports.
Deactivate or activate
Use the Active switch in the Forms list, or the Active label on the form's page. When you deactivate, confirm with Deactivate: people can no longer submit responses, and the form can't be shared and leaves the pinned lists. Turn it back on at any time.
Duplicate
From the ⋯ menu, select Duplicate and confirm. The copy is named "(name) copy", has the same settings and questions but no responses, and opens in the editor so you can review it before sharing.
Delete
From the ⋯ menu, select Delete, then Delete permanently.
Deleting removes the form and every response to it. This can't be undone. If you might need the responses, generate a report first, or deactivate the form instead.
Who can see and manage a form
Who can view the responses? decides who can open the form in the dashboard:
| Setting | Who can view, edit, share and approve |
|---|---|
| Everyone | Everyone in the workspace |
| Only me | Only the form's creator |
Either way, anyone in the workspace can fill out the form, and only the person who submitted a response can edit it.
